Second Story Media

Client Collaborations

During my senior year at Appalachian State University, I was selected to be a part of the university’s student-run communications and advertising agency, Second Story Media. My clients included a local non-profit, a coffee shop, and a few university departments. Below you will find a few examples of my work as part of this organization.

Nobody loves you like your mother

From class project to competition contender

This postcard design started as a fun assignment in a graphic design course, but it didn't stop there. It found its way into the spotlight when it was a runner up for App State's Renewable Energy Initiative’s T-Shirt Design Competition.

CLIENT WORK

Beans2Brew

During my time at Client Collaborations, I was involved in supporting Beans2Brew, a student-run coffee shop dedicated to raising funds for various student clubs.

My primary role was to write and edit copy for my colleagues’ designs and social media posts. It was my job to ensure that the messaging was clear, consistent, and aligned with Beans2Brew's branding. I was also tasked with designing posters to promote Beans2Brew and their volunteer opportunities.

CLIENT WORK

OASIS INC.

Another client I worked with during my time on the Client Collaboration team was Oasis. Oasis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence in Watauga and Avery Counties, North Carolina.

My responsibilities included designing posters to raise awareness about Oasis's services, as well as writing copy for my colleagues pull tab poster, bumper sticker, and social media posts. My focus was ensuring each design had consistent messaging that was empathetic and aligned with Oasis's mission.
