UX Content Design Internship at Red Hat

During my Summer internship with Red Hat's UX Content Design Team, I collaborated with a diverse team to plan, write, and refine microcopy, integrating user insights. Additionally, I assisted in developing learning strategies for users and contributed to enhancing PatternFly's UX guidelines. I also engaged in building brand awareness for design at Red Hat across various channels.

My contributions to Red Hat’s UX Content Design team included the following

01

CONTENT REVIEWS

I completed comprehensive content reviews for the product design teams I was working with.

This involved assessing and refining various elements of written material, ensuring alignment with user-centric principles and overall design objectives.

Through this process, I honed my ability to analyze and enhance content, contributing to the creation of a more cohesive and user-friendly experience.

03

MEDIUM BLOGGING

I wrote blogs centered around UX design for PatternFly's Medium publication.

These blogs explore best practices, accessibility, and the ethos shaping design decisions. My goal was to bridge technical insights with a broader understanding of UX design, catering to a diverse audience.

04

PATTERNFLY’S STYLE GUIDE

I updated design guidelines for the sidebar and simple list components, drawing insights from PatternFly and reliable sources.

The project included converting technical details into accessible language and creating prototypes of components on Sketch.

02

PARTNER MICROCOPY GUIDELINES

I collaborated with Customer Content Services (CCS) to develop partner microcopy guidelines for Quick Starts in Red Hat OpenShift Data Science (RHODS).

This involved researching the anatomy of quickstarts, understanding user perspectives, and crafting guidelines for optimal writing in each element.

Through this project, I expanded my collaboration skills across departments, and I was introduced to the importance of language consistency when working with diverse teams.
